The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a program launched by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed at addressing the digital divide in the United States. The digital divide refers to the gap between those who have access to affordable, reliable broadband internet service and those who do not.
The ACP provides funding to eligible households to help them pay for internet service, as well as for the purchase of a device such as a laptop or tablet. The program is open to households that meet certain income criteria or that have experienced a significant loss of income during the pandemic.
